Senior Control Systems Engineer

Reliant Systems, Inc. is a vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of high precision linear and rotary positioning stages.  We specialize in custom, easy to integrate OEM motion assemblies that have been designed for a customer’s specific application.  Our positioning stages are found in metrology, inspection, and production tools used in the semiconductor, data recording, medical device, and laser machining industries.

Job Description

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will develop new electro-mechanical motion control devices with sub-micron precision.  You will provide guidance and technical support to customers, gather requirements, assess feasibility, and provide input to the design team.  Successful candidates must be able to determine motors, drives and controllers that will meet specifications and tune, and optimize to meet movement profiles on linear and rotary systems across a range of sizes and performance specifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience applied to mechatronics systems
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical design as it relates to electro-mechanical assemblies
  • 5+ years of experience with linear or rotary electro-mechanical actuator design

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience working with customers and partners to gather system level requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to translate system requirements into Mechatronics solutions
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with laser interferometry
  • 3D CAD experience, SolidWorks preferred
  • Expertise with one of the following controller brands: B&R, Allen Bradley, ACS
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Established engineering knowledge in the application and development of analytical solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Discipline and creativity in applying skills to work assignments and projects
  • Minimum supervision necessary in solving complex engineering problems
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills with experience in teamwork and team building

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will develop new electro-mechanical motion control devices with sub-micron precision.  You will be responsible for designing precision motion stages in 3D CAD software, generating models and drawings, performing analysis, simulations, and studies.  The Mechanical Design Engineer will also assist with prototyping and production builds.  Successful candidates must be able to design linear and rotary systems across a range of sizes and performance specifications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience applied to mechatronics systems
  • 2+ years of experience with mechanical design as it relates to electro-mechanical assemblies

Additional Qualifications

Electrical Assembly Technician

Job Description

As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will build and test cable assemblies that are used in our high precision linear and rotary positioning stages.  You will build the assemblies using schematics and build processes and then test them using cable testers and multimeters.  You will also work closely with the engineering team providing feedback for continued product design improvement.  Successful candidate must be able to follow assembly instructions, standard operating and quality assurance procedures, and be able to read and understand engineering drawings.  You must be a self-starter and be able to work in a team setting.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in related discipline strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as an electrical technician working with crimping tools, measuring tools, microscopes, manufacturing and evaluation equipment, as well as small components and electrical devices.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with and read precision hand tools.  Examples include: digital or dial calipers, digital or dial micrometers, tape measures, and wire cutting tools.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Speak, read and write English fluently and possess skills normally associated with a two-year electrical technician degree.
  • Experience using set-up documents and operation procedures for manufacturing specifications.
  • 1+ years of experience with MS office including Word and Excel.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills with experience in teamwork and team building.
