Reliant Systems, Inc. was founded in early 2004 by Steve Sporre and Randy Olerich, both of which were key long-time employees of Newport Corporation-MN, who recognized an immediate need to provide continued technical support for the OEM customers of Newport Corporation that were impacted by Newport’s decision to discontinue operations at their Plymouth, MN facility.

RSI progressed through an explosive growth period between their fiscal years of 2005-2007 which contributed to a 220% increase in sales. During this period, RSI became a Newport Corporation authorized service center, expanded their capabilities to include repair/refurbishing of other manufacturers positioning products and grew its operations by adding:

• New direct OEM accounts
• Contract Manufacturing Services
• Engineering & Production Managers
• Engineering & Design utilizing SolidWorks, Cosmos Works & Cosmos Motion
• Electrical & Mechanical Technicians
• Developed the BR150 positioning system for a leading Stent manufacturer
• Initiated development of motorized linear & rotary stages
• Purchased a 9000 sq. ft. building in July of 2007

By the end of July 2008, RSI was exceeding the previous year sales with the addition of new incremental business and the initial introduction of its standard product-lines. RSI also extended its capabilities by installing a 500 square foot cleanroom for critical production and testing requirements.

RSI will continue to focus on providing complete automation solutions to OEM’s including custom design and complete manufacturing enabling our customers to focus on the development and integration of their products through their core competencies.

With the addition of newly created Partnerships, Reliant Systems is positioning itself to be a technology leader providing automation products to companies in the semiconductor, medical device, flat panel, photovoltaic, industrial, metrology and other global high- tech industries.
